What to do today
A Mets outing in Queens
Citi Field is a destination for more than the innings themselves. The approach from public transport, time outside before entry and a slow walk around the ballpark can extend your outing. Read the forecast for that whole period.
Different seats, different exposure
The hourly values describe UV around the stadium. They cannot tell you how an overhang or the sun's angle affects a particular row. Shade can move during a game, so a section name alone is not a personal exposure forecast.
Afternoon and evening plans
For a day game, compare the opening hours of your visit with the later innings. For an evening event, check the earlier travel period instead of assuming that the whole trip happens after the UV has dropped. The official Mets site has current visitor arrangements.
Sun protection tips for Citi Field
- Pack sun protection for the journey as well as the time in your seat.
- A cool breeze is not a UV reading; use the hourly curve.
- Take breaks out of direct sun where available without treating them as a substitute for covering exposed skin.
