About the Eiffel Tower

An Eiffel Tower visit can include the gardens, the esplanade and time taking photographs from nearby streets and lawns. The official tower website treats the gardens and esplanade as part of the visit, separate from going up the tower.

This forecast is for the outdoor area around the landmark. It is not a separate reading for the summit, a glass-enclosed space or a particular shaded queue.

A breeze does not measure UV

A breeze beside the Seine or on an outdoor platform can make a sunny day feel cooler. That is useful for comfort, but it does not tell you the UV level. Keep an eye on the forecast if a short photo stop becomes a long walk.

Tree shade in the gardens can offer a break from direct sun. It does not describe the whole route, particularly if you continue across open paths or stop on a bridge.

Plan the whole Paris walk

Check the forecast for the hours before and after your entry slot. A morning tower visit followed by a picnic can extend into the day's higher-UV hours.

The daily curve changes through the seasons. Compare today's local times rather than assuming the UV peak is the same as the hottest part of the afternoon.

Sun protection tips for Eiffel Tower

  • Carry a hat and sunglasses for outdoor waiting and photo stops.
  • Keep sunscreen accessible during a longer river walk and follow the label for reapplication.
  • Use the official tower website for entry rules and opening information; UV forecasts do not show whether an attraction is open.
