The beach and the walk beside it

A Surfers Paradise outing can move between sand, water and the beachfront streets. A stop for lunch does not necessarily end the outdoor part. Check the expected hours on the beach as well as the journey there.

Buildings do not shade the whole beach

Shelter changes with position and time of day. This forecast covers the beachfront area, not the shade of a selected tower or umbrella. A breeze that makes the weather comfortable is not a reading of UV.

Plan the whole coastal visit

Look ahead if your plans extend from a morning swim into an afternoon walk. The daily curve is more useful than a single reading copied from earlier in the day. Check local beach information for patrols and water conditions separately.

If you leave the beach for lunch and return later, compare both beach sessions with the curve. The reading during the first swim is not a forecast for the second visit.

Sun protection tips for Surfers Paradise

  • Bring covering clothing for time between swims.
  • Use sunscreen according to its label, including after water activities.
  • Include shade breaks and sunglasses in the plan without treating cloud or a sea breeze as protection.
