What to do today
About Teide National Park
A trip from Tenerife’s coast to Teide takes you into a very different landscape. The Canary Islands tourism board describes the park’s broad lava fields as lying mainly above 2,000 metres. Open views are a big part of the visit, whether you are walking or stopping beside the road.
What the forecast covers
This chart is centred near Roques de García and the Cañada Blanca visitor area. It is not a separate summit forecast. Do not treat a coastal reading as interchangeable with this one, or automatically add an altitude percentage to the chart: the underlying weather model already represents an area at its own terrain height.
Sun on a sightseeing day
A drive through the park can involve repeated stops outside. Check the curve before setting out and carry your sun gear into the park, even if you only expect short walks. Keep a warm layer too; comfort in the air and time in direct sun are separate parts of the plan.
Walking beyond the viewpoints
For a higher route, check the official trail information and access arrangements before travelling. This page helps with sun planning, but it cannot describe the weather, wind or conditions along the entire climb. Leave time for the return rather than planning only around the outward walk.
Sun protection tips for Teide National Park
- Keep a hat secure and carry a covering layer on open walks.
- Check the forecast for the park rather than relying only on a beach forecast.
- Read the official access and equipment guidance for your chosen route.
